Meet the Fuzzies

These are my babies. They are, and I say this without any kind of pet-parental bias, the best pets ever. The black-pawed one is Grissom, almost two years old, a sweet, loyal boy ferret who will follow us around and sleep in our laps. The one with white mitts one is Genevieve, seven months old, just learning to behave like a grown-up ferret. She is a real explorer who can be very easily provoked into jumping about and wrestling. Griss and Jenny are cage mates - usually they get along pretty well. They love to wrestle and will chase each other all around the apartment jumping on one another. My husband certainly loves them at least as much as if they were our children, and I think I do too. Best pets ever!

Why oh why?

So what does a teacher whose husband works summer school do with her time in June? It's Day 2 and I've already succumbed to the lure of a knitting blog. Why? Could it be a desire to stay away from the TV? A desperate attempt to do something useful with all the pictures I've been taking of my knitting projects? A hearkening back to the childhood days of journal-keeping? An forum for the advocacy of keeping ferrets as pets? It doesn't matter... I intend to have some fun with this even if I'm the only one who ever visits. Just need to decide which comes first... pictures of ferrets or knitting? Have to ponder that one...
